Sign Up Genius and Halloween

Hello Families,

I would like to welcome volunteers into our classroom on Wednesdays starting in November.  Please click on the link Sign Up Genius to sign up IF you have a valid volunteer clearance and you are available to join us in the classroom to cut, glue organize and play!

Students are welcome to wear their costume to school!  Please no weapons or scary masks!  

If students do not want to wear their costume or they do not recognize Halloween, they can either wear Black and Orange or regular clothes.  Please do not send treats for your class!

Pumpkinella and Picture Day

Tomorrow is Retake Day and Class Picture Day

On Thursday, October 31, CHS will be having our seventh annual “Pumpkinella” event.  

Children may bring in a Jack-O-Lantern to be put in the gym as part of our ‘spooktacular’ display.  

We will do a Pumpkinella tour to admire all the Jack O' Lanterns!

Pumpkins can be brought to the gym between 8:55 – 9:10AM and 

must be picked up by 4:15PM the same day.  

Unclaimed pumpkins will be composted.  

Halloween and Pumpkins

Oh...the excitement is in the air!  

Students are very excited for Halloween on Thursday!

Today we were learning about How to Carve a Pumpkin!

Room on the Broom and Buddies

Today we read the story Room on the Broom.  

We worked on sequencing and remembering which characters we met and in what order.

We also listening for rhyming words!  

We had buddies today!  We made Witches, Bats, Frankensteins and Pumpkins!

Dentist Visit

PM Kinder is at school tomorrow!

Today we had a visit from the Panatella Dental!  

We learned about healthy food choices to help keep our teeth clean and 

how to brush ALL of our teeth!

Check the BLUE folders for a care package from the dentist it is full of Smile Supplies!

 We ALL were at school today!  Ask me who my friends are and what their names are:)

Don't forget that Life Touch orders are due tomorrow!  Retakes are on October 30th!

Seesaw

Hello Families,

I am going to TRY a new app called Seesaw to share our daily learning with you!  I will continue to use our Blog to communicate our learning as a class, but Seesaw will be a way to share personal videos and images of your child in class!

I am sending home instructions on how to sign up for Seesaw on your smartphone or on your computer!  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at lmsloane@cbe.ab.ca

Tomorrow is Library Day and we are having a special presentation from a Dentist!

Take ME Outside

Tomorrow is Take ME Outside Day!  

We will be spending part of our afternoon on the playground...please make sure your child has appropriate footwear, a warm jacket, mitts and a touque!

Math Centers and Light Table

Today we went to our NEW Math Centers!  

1. We practiced reading dice and writing the numbers.

2. We used Lego to build 10 Frames and numbers.

3. We put numbers in order to create a puzzle

4. We rolled dice and then built the number with blocks!

We got a new Light Table!  Check out our new designs!

Our Pumpkin Patch and Pictures

No School for PM Kinder tomorrow!  See you on Monday!

Please look in the BLUE folders for the Life Touch order forms.  

They are due back to the school or online by October 24th!

Jack o' Lanterns and Library

Today we turned our pumpkins into Jack o' Lanterns!  First, we cut out and glued a mouth.  

Second, we cut out white and black eyes and glued them too.  Third, we cut and glued the teeth on.  Some of us decided to add noses!

Our Jack o' Lanterns are just like us...unique and different!  When WE are all together we make up our kindergarten class and when we put our pumpkins together, they make a PUMPKIN PATCH!

Don't forget tomorrow is Library Day!  Bring your BLUE bag and book!
